XorMon uses a HPE VME Manager REST API to collect data.
It is necessary to create a user and assign them a role with limited data access permissions.

Create New Role

• Log in to HPE VME Manager and navigate to Administration -> Roles
• Create new Role named "XorMon Monitoring"
  
  
• Open the new role and assign Permissions
  
  
  • Permissions → Features
    Assign following permissions
    
    Admin
    Health: Read
    
    Infrastructure
    Set "Read" for all items except "Manage Placement" and "Toggle Maintenance," which should remain set to "None"
    Monitoring
    Logs - Read
    
    Operations
    Set "Read" for all items except "Wiki," which should remain set to "None"
    
    Provisioning
    Instances: List - Full
    For the others, the setting should remain "None"
    
    Snapshots
    Snapshots - Read
    
    
  • Permission → Groups
    Set "Default Acces" to "Read"
    
    
  • Permission → Instance Types
    Set "Default Acces" to "Full"
    
    
  • Permission → Cluster Types
    Set "Default Acces" to "Full"
    
    

Create User

• Navigate to Administration -> Users
  
  
• Create new User named "xormon"
  
  
• Assign the newly created role to the user
  
  

Add HPE VME to XorMon

• Navigate to XorMon UI -> Settings icon -> Device -> Server Virtualization -> HPE VME -> Add new device
  
  
  
• Run "Test" for configured device, it must show "OK"
  
  
• Wait about 1 hour, then reload the web browser, you should see it in XorMon UI
