SFP optical power

SFP power is the optical power of an SFP transceiver module. On Brocade Fabric OS, the sfpShow command reports it in dBm and in microwatts: received (Rx) power for smart SFPs, and transmitted (Tx) power only for long-wave modules. Smart SFPs also report temperature, voltage and laser diode current.

✓XorMon graphs SAN SFP IN and OUT power in dBm; the documentation notes that these metrics are important in predicting various errors on the SAN.
✓There are three levels: total (a table), switch (a graph) and port (a graph).
✓SAN SFP power is supported only for Brocade based switches; the documentation notes that Cisco MDS does not provide it.
